Common questions

Everything you need to know before signing up.

What is IPFS and why should I care?
IPFS is a decentralized file protocol where content is addressed by what it is, not where it is. Files are permanent and tamper-proof — once pinned, no server going offline can make them disappear. It's the infrastructure behind much of Web3 and a growing number of traditional apps.
Do I need to run my own node?
No. That's the whole point of Tarlo. We run professionally managed nodes so you don't have to deal with setup, maintenance, disk management, or downtime. Just upload your files and we handle everything else.
What happens if I exceed my storage limit?
You'll be notified when you're approaching your limit. Your existing files stay pinned — we won't delete anything. You can upgrade to the Pro plan at any time to get more space, or reach out if you need a custom amount.
Is private storage actually private?
Yes — genuinely. Private files are stored on an isolated IPFS node running in offline mode. They're never announced to the public IPFS network, meaning they can't be discovered or accessed by anyone else. This is different from most services that just add access control on top of public infrastructure.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, no questions asked. You can cancel directly from your account dashboard. Your files remain accessible until the end of your billing period.
